Eligibility

The 2012 New Media Awards competition is open to any individual or business who has participated in the process of developing a Blog, Web Site, Digital Advertising Campaign or other form of new media communication.

Submission Process

Entries must be submitted using the New Media Awards Web site. When a completed entry form is received by the New Media Institute (NMI), along with the application fee, an automated response is sent out to the applicant as confirmation that the entry has been received. The application will be reviewed by NMI prior to the competition deadline. If any entry is found to be incomplete, an NMI staff person will contact the entrant.

Web sites currently not accessible to the public have two options for entry:

  • Password Protected Site
Password protected sites can be entered into the competition. Entrants must be sure to fill in the username and password on the entry form.

  • CD ROM
Web sites can be stored onto CD ROMs and submitted. When submitting a CD ROM, entrants must fill in the URL field with “CD ROM”. Four copies of the CD ROM with a printout of the entry confirmation email must be mailed to:

    New Media Institute
110 Williams Street, 22 nd Floor
    New York, New York 10038

Categories of Entry

The 2012 New Media Awards does not limit the number of categories available for entry. Applicants may enter their project to as many categories as they so choose. Each category may have several winners. For example, in the insurance category, there may be awards for best life insurance Web site, best auto insurance Web site, best insurance agency Web site, best insurance education Web site, etc. This is because companies in the same industry may offer different products and on a different scale. This makes the competition fair and allows for comparing "apples to apples". Typical categories are as follows:
